Terms & Conditions – Pride Hostel at The Old Mill Westport

Welcome to The Old Mill - Westport’s Pride Hostel! Please take a moment to review our Terms & Conditions before completing your booking. By making a reservation, you agree to comply with the policies outlined below.

1. Cancellation Policy

Group Bookings (4+ People): Cancellations made at least 28 days before check-in will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 28 days are non-refundable.

Individual Bookings (1-3 People): Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before check-in for a full refund. Please contact us directly to process your cancellation.

Self-Cancellation System: Customers can cancel their booking through our system, but refunds will only be issued based on the policies above. You will find the cancellation link in your booking email.

2. Check-in & Check-out

Check-in: 3:30 pm – 10:30 pm. If you expect to arrive outside of these hours, please The Old Mill Hostel  in advance to verify availability. See contact below.

Check-out: 10:30 am. Late check-out may incur additional charges.

3. Accommodation & Bunk Bed Use

The Old Mill Hostel provides bunk bed accommodation.

Guests must use only their assigned bunk (top or bottom) and conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner.

Bunk Bed Safety:

• Only one person is allowed on a bunk at any time.
• The top bunk is for guests who are physically able to climb and descend safely.
• Guests must be mindful of movement in bunk beds to avoid disturbing others or causing accidents.
• Guests accept responsibility for their choice to sleep in a bunk bed and must report any issues with sleeping arrangements or equipment to staff at check-in.

4. Behaviour Deposit

At check-in, each guest must pay a €30 behaviour deposit in cash.

This deposit is refundable at check-out, provided that hostel rules are followed.

If you are booking as part of a group, please ensure that all members are aware of these rules.

5. House Rules & Conduct

Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Violations of the rules below may result in eviction without refund:

Damage: Any damage to hostel property (beds, windows, toilets, showers, walls, mirrors, carpets, etc.) must be reported immediately. Guests may be charged for repairs.

Theft: Missing bed linen, mattresses, kitchen equipment, or another guest’s possessions will be treated as theft.

Cleanliness: Guests must leave dorms in a respectable condition. Remove any rubbish and avoid excessive mess. 

Abuse: Any threats, intimidation, violence, or disruptive behaviour towards staff or guests will result in eviction and may be reported to authorities.

Non-Paying Guests: No unregistered guests are allowed on the premises. This will be treated as trespassing.

Food & Alcohol: Consumption and storage of food and alcohol are only permitted in the kitchen and common areas, not in dorms.

Noise Policy: A no-noise policy applies from sunset to sunrise under the Environmental Protection Act 1992. Disruptive guests will be removed.

6. Age Restrictions

The hostel is adults only (21+).

We do not accept guests under 21 years of age.

7. Check-in Information & Contact

Check-in: 3:30 pm – 10:30 pm.

We cannot guarantee late check-in. Please contact us directly for verification if arriving outside these hours.
